Alumni DOCTORATE Spotlight II - Providence Bible College & Theological Seminary 1 Corinthians 2:9 However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"[a]
Dr. James W. Brown , 2007 Graduate D.Min (Alumnus)
Currently serves as an Executive ordained Pastor and has served in Senior and Assistant Pastor positions. Dr. Brown has always been a fan of education and his calling is primarily in teaching. He is part of the Faculty at PBC&TS.
His personal statement is to "instruct, inspire, and release God's people." He uses Philippians 3: 12 as his basis "...I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me." When his dissertation "Study of Liturgical and Charismatic Worship" was finished, it fertile the ground for the Church to have a booklet on "Welcome to Worship". This booklet helps all newcomers understand Worship better.
As for the faculty, PBC&TS faculty are not thought of as "stuck in the mud" because of their ability to design the course around your needs while continually challenging you academically and maintaining the personal relationships. Dr. Brown described Providence Bible College & Theological Seminary as "Relational, Challenging, and Edifying".

Dr. Erdie Mae Hutchings, 2009 Graduate D.Min (Alumna)
She serves as Superintendent of Sunday School and Minister "in Training" at her Church. She writes the curriculum for both Sunday School and Bible Study for their youth.
Dr. Hutchings says, "I went into Providence with my reflection/goals and came out with God's reflection / goals." She believes that she has been given:
clarity of the Word;
understanding of her calling;
and has gotten aligned with the Word of God.
As a public school teacher in K-12, Dr. Hutchings is submerged in making sure the light God has made bright in her shine through. As a student, she anxiously and eagerly awaited class, usually being first in the parking lot, for class doors to open. Each instructor made class personable and focused on ensuring there were no hindrances within the students in order for class to begin. When students were not doing their best, the professors would be honest about their reason for being here. Dr. Hutchings was inspired to write two (2) books: "Women of the Bible - Speaks to Women of Today" and "Taming of the Tongue".
The lasting impression of Providence Bible College & Theological Seminary is that when you are in or graduate from PBC&TS, you will experience: the conviction through the Spirit of God; humbling of self; the peace within; clarity of the Word; the family within the School, and that it's all about THEE and not about Me!
